Germain Arena Recreation Rink Shutdown
May 15, 2018
Dear Valued Customer,
In May, 2017, our ice plant suffered a broken pipe, that caused the system to shut down for a brief period. Our employees, along with our subcontractors, were able to temporarily repair the system, so that we could reopen for business. We have been working with our subcontractors to figure out the exact cause, and how to permanently repair the equipment. After exploring all possible solutions, we are forced to shut down the recreation rinks, and replace major components of the ice plant, and rink systems. This solution was reached only after weighing all options, and the effect it would have on our customers.
The repairs will take approximately 3 months to complete, and are scheduled to begin Monday, June 18th, 2018. While major repairs are taking place in the rinks, and ice plant, we also plan to continue updating other areas of the arena. In the past 24 months, we have purchased 2 new scoreboards, 2 new Olympia ice resurfacers, painted the exterior of the building, and replaced all of the rink lighting.
Our commitment has always been to provide our customers with a fun, and safe place for great experiences, memories, and the best entertainment in Southwest Florida. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and look forward to seeing all of you in September.
